Here is a verse for today.

We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.

2 Corinthians 6 v 1

We are not what we should be and not what we could be.

We have a long way to go in the path of sanctification and practical holiness.
We need to be very careful that we use the Grace of God given to us and not abuse it.

In every revival the presence of God is closely felt and a sense of sin is keenly known.

We can have a personal revival in our lives and know the closeness of the presence of God and with it, a real sense of our sin and not the superficial view which we often have now; which lets us minimise and overlook so much sin at the expense of the Grace of God in us.

George Whitefield wrote in a letter on the 6th March 1735:

‘The renewal of our natures is a work of great importance. It is not to be done in a day. We have not only a new house to build up, but an old one to pull down.’
