Holiday Wednesday

Yesterday we had  quiet day visiting my father, we travelled from the caravan site to Turo  and then on to St Austell  and then up to Penwithick  which is in the heart of the china clay country in Cornwall. China clay plays and important part in making  ceramics, paper and many other applications.

We went out for dinner at an eating house a few miles away, I had whitebait as a starter and ribs as a main course and shared my wife’s sweet. It was a very enjoyable meal. Afterwards we went to a covered market and had a stroll around while my father and his wife did some shopping.

Then we travelled some seven miles to Mevagissey and walked around the harbour, visited a second-hand bookshop which didn’t appear to even have a section for Christian books which is a sad reflection on how things are in this country.  Later we travelled back to the caravan for the night.

So ended a private day with my father which leads me to reflect on our spending time with our Heavenly Father in a private way. We our well used to public worship and all that entails but how well  versed are we in private company with our Heavenly Father ?

We hear much of fellowship with Jesus in these days, often in a light ephemeral way, but often we forget or do not realise that Jesus is the way to the Father “no man cometh to the Father but by me.”  “We are to Worship the Lord our God and Him only shalt thou serve”

How much fellowship do we have with the Father, do we often cry “Abba Father” ?

“But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.” Matt 6:6

If we desire to walk in the Spirit we must ask help of the Father..

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” Luke 11:13

So worshiping God the Father through the Lord Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit is what we should be about every day.
