And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Matt 18 v12

Yesterday the 6th January was the 160 anniversary of the conversion of that great Baptist preacher C H Spurgeon.

He was truly a prince of preachers and through his ministry, with the Lord’s blessing upon it, he was the means of the conversion and building up of many men, women and children to and in the Christian faith.  His many sermons are still available to today and are still read and listened to in many countries and by Christians of many persuasions.

All need to be converted to Christ or they will perish, so we who know and love the Saviour have a duty and responsibility to go and make Christ known by our words and by our lives.

My Thought for today is this:- you never know what may be achieved when you share the Gospel of Christ.

It may be through a personal sharing of your Christian experience, it may be the placing of a Gospel tract, it may be by Preaching the Gospel in a formal way, it may be by gossiping the gospel audibly or by one of the many means of communication available today, it may be by quietly living out the Gospel before work fellows or your own family. If you communicate the glorious Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ it will not fall to the ground, unused by God, it will achieve HIS wonderful purposes. It may be used to to harden someone’s heart and confirm them in their sins and and be the means of showing the Righteous Judgement of God, it might be one link of a chain that leads to someone’s conversion, it might be, as in Spurgeon case 160 years ago, the very means of God to bring one into the Kingdom of God and you may never be aware of what has transpired in that moment.

It is required  of servants that they are found faithful. We are servants of the most High God and we should be faithful in proclaiming the Kingdom of God .

Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
