COVID-19 ISOLATED MEDITATION

COVID-19 Meditation.

These days are distressing, all life is frail,
Toil appears, in every sphere;
If you’re expecting, the norm to prevail,
Wake up now, become aware.

However secure, your life seems to be,
In a moment, all can change;
If change and decay, all around I see,
Why do you think, this so strange ?

My flesh is as grass, as flowers soon fade
As white mists, soon blown away;
Days pass as shadows, so never evade,
Life’s gone ! and never replayed.

In Powers that be, our trust is misplaced,
Resources, are not secure;
Limitation in life, soon must be faced,
Our health we cannot procure.

You may be feeling, some calm before storm,
Yet whirlwind, soon shall you see;
Your efforts alone, will never transform,
Whatever God’s Will decrees.

If fear fills your brow, you need to declare,
Fear has some uses so clear;
It makes you aware, it helps you prepare,
To long for God, to come near.

A life without God, is always in vain,
So soon it comes to an end;
If true life obtains, Jesus Christ must reign,
And be the sinners true friend.

With Christ at the helm, the frailest of barques,
Will come to the further shore;
With pilot onboard, its safe to embark,
This Ark most safe, I implore.

We aren’t immune, from sins consequences,
The whole of creation groans;
But by Christ alone, my dire offences,
His shed blood, alone atones.

The future to face, His love I embrace,
All good to me He desires;
You cannot replace, provisions of Grace,
In life or death, it transpires.

Amen.
